Our client, a well-established manufacturer and supplier, based in the West Midlands area, currently has the need for a Purchasing Officer to join their team at their Head Office based in Dudley. The Successful Purchasing Officer will have experience within a Purchasing role, be fast thinking, have great attention to detail, and be able to build relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Answering the phone, and email queries and providing general office support where required
- Constant daily communication with other managers and teams to determine supply needs and timeframes required for the day and proactively for the week/month
- Purchase and schedule material supplies according to specifications
- Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc
- Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
- Supporting Production/Warehouse/Goods In with queries and stock levels
- Raising Purchase Orders
- Raw Material delivery and receipt
- Liaise with the Sales team and assist with Bills of Materials for new products
- Attend daily Production meetings
- Any additional and reasonable tasks requested by management which may be necessary
The Successful Candidate:
- Proven experience within a similar capacity – desirabele
- Previous experience in manufacturing industry – desirable
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to work off own initiative
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to react quickly and think outside the box to resolve issues; a problem-solver
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal
- Focus on continuous improvement in a positive and innovative manner
- Outgoing personality and ability to easily build rapport at any level
- Good time management and ability to prioritise workload quickly
- Adaptable to change and able to integrate easily
- Good attention to detail
