What’s on offer:

  • £26,000 to £30,000 per year
  • 40 hours, 8:00am – 4:30, Monday – Friday with a half an hour unpaid lunch
  • Pension scheme is provided at a rate of 5% from salary and 3% from employer contributions.

I am working on behalf of my client, who is looking for a Service Controller to join their team within the forklift service division. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day service operations including managing service schedules, liaising with customers, and ensuring the efficient allocation of engineers and resources to meet service delivery targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and dispatch service technicians to customer sites based on priority and availability.
  • Monitor service requests and ensure timely response and resolution
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service inquiries and updates.
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including job completion and technician performance, invoicing where necessary.
  • Prepare reports on service metrics and performance for management review.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure availability for service needs.
  • Assist in ordering and procurement of necessary parts and equipment
  • Collaborate with the service team to optimize workflow and improve processes.
  • Support the Service Manager in training new team members as needed.

Person Specification:

  • A-levels or equivalent; relevant industry qualifications or certifications are advantageous
  • Previous experience in a service coordination or administration role, preferably in the forklift or machinery industry.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and service management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and service management software
