I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established industry leader for an Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates. The role requires a strong understanding of installation methods and relevant industry standards, along with the ability to confidently interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications related to parapet systems.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for parapet supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor elements.
• Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders and communicate them clearly.
• Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
• Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids

Person specifications:

• Experience in estimating within the highways or civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on parapet systems
• or similar safety infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of parapet types, installation methods, and relevant standards (e.g., EN 1317, BS 7818).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
