Commercial Temporary Recruitment Consultant

Location: Dudley

Role Overview:

As a Commercial Temporary Recruitment Consultant, you will be responsible for driving business development and delivering exceptional recruitment services to clients within the commercial temporary staffing sector. You will proactively develop new business, nurture existing client relationships, and ensure all recruitment activity is compliant with industry standards and company procedures.

Your role involves managing the full recruitment cycle — from client acquisition and job briefing to candidate placement and aftercare — while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and professional service in line with our core values.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development 

  • Proactively develop new client relationships within the commercial sector through telephone contact, client visits, networking, and presentations.
  • Promote MET Recruitment UK Ltd’s services across all divisions and branches to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
  • Manage and grow existing client accounts, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct regular client review meetings to monitor service levels and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation skills to achieve outcomes that are commercially beneficial for both clients and MET Recruitment UK Ltd.

Administration and Compliance 

  • Oversee the full recruitment process for all temporary commercial placements, ensuring that all workers supplied meet client requirements.
  • Negotiate rates and fees with clients in line with company policies and minimum margin guidelines.
  • Maintain full compliance with industry and legal standards, including:
    • AWR (Agency Workers Regulations)
    • WTR (Working Time Regulations)
    • Right to Work in the UK
  • Ensure your desk operates in full compliance with MET Recruitment UK Ltd’s internal procedures and policies.
  • Address and escalate any issues related to service delivery or client satisfaction to the Industrial Director or Managing Director as appropriate.
  • Handle and resolve basic payroll queries in line with company procedures, escalating where necessary.
  • Support accurate and timely invoicing, assisting with credit control and ensuring prompt payments.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Use social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter to promote vacancies, attract candidates, and enhance the professional image of MET Recruitment UK Ltd.
  • Represent MET Recruitment UK Ltd at local business and networking events to raise the company’s profile.
  • Maintain a consultative approach, offering expert advice to both clients and candidates within the commercial sector.
  • Collaborate across multiple desks and divisions where required to ensure clients receive a seamless service.
  • Always uphold MET Recruitment UK Ltd’s professional standards and company ethos of quality, integrity, and reliability.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Proven experience in temporary commercial recruitment (administration, customer service, sales, accounts, etc.).
  • Strong sales and business development skills with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of AWR, WTR, and Right to Work requirements.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and compliance focus.
  • Confident negotiator with a professional, consultative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
