Counterbalance Forklift Driver (Nights)

£15.12 per hour
Monday to Friday, 8:00pm – 5:30am
Full Time, Ongoing Position
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy pallet network operation in Wolverhampton. This is a fast-paced, time-critical environment where efficiency, accuracy and safety are essential.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in pallet distribution and must be confident loading and unloading double deck trailers to strict deadlines.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- A minimum of 12 months continuous Counterbalance FLT experience within the last year.
- At least 2 years’ experience loading and unloading double deck trailers.
- Experience working within a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong awareness of load security and weight distribution.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures.
Desirable
- Previous pallet network experience.
- Experience working in high-volume transport or logistics operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete daily forklift safety checks and associated documentation at the start of each shift.
- Operate a Counterbalance FLT safely and responsibly at all times.
- Load and unload trailers within agreed operational timeframes.
- Ensure correct weight distribution across trailer decks and axles.
- Stack, move and distribute pallets efficiently while minimising damage.
- Work safely alongside multiple forklift truck operators in a busy yard and warehouse environment.
- Report any damage to equipment, trailers or pallets immediately.
- Adhere to all site rules and operational procedures.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the shift.
- Cooperate fully with all company health and safety policies and requirements.
- Support the wider operation to ensure service levels and deadlines are achieved.
