Trade Counter Assistant – Fareham

Permanent – Full time

Salary – National Living Wage + quarterly bonus – basic salary negotiable dependant on experience, knowledge of PPE and workwear highly advantageous.

Our client offer an ideal onestop- shop solution for all PPE, Uniform, Janitorial product and general workplace consumables.

They require an experienced administrator / trade counter assistant to join their Fareham branch to deal with customer enquiries and orders. The role will involve receiving enquiries from customers, raising quotations for products and entering orders onto their computer system. They are looking for someone pro-active who will make outbound calls to generate sales, knowledge of PPE and workwear highly advantageous.

You would be building a relationship with customers to maximise sale opportunities, this can be achieved by providing excellent customer service through professional handling of inbound telephone calls and face to face communication, offering advice and solutions.


  • Dealing with inbound calls
  • Dealing with orders and queries
  • Managing customer database
  • Typing of quotations and invoices
  • Serving customers over the trade counter
  • Processing orders in an accurate and timely way
  • Ad hoc duties associated with a small office environment


  • Ability to learn basic product details and health and safety regulations over time.
  • Comfortable with use of computers.
  • Have a can do attitude to customer service
  • Be able to build business relationship with regular customers and know how they like to do business.
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Be prepared to go the extra mile for customers to ensure they get what they require.
  • Ideally have some knowledge of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) industry.

Hours: Monday – Friday 08.00-17.00
