Our client, a manufacturer of products across a broad spectrum of industries, requires a Tool Maker to join their team permanently. The Tool Maker will be working as part of a team within a press tool repair and manufacturing environment and will support the day-to-day production activities.

Key skills and experience required:
- Experience within a press tool repair and manufacturing environment
- Familiar with grinding and milling machines
- Well-organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional
- Good timekeeping and attendance
- Responsible for achieving own key objectives, as well as the objectives of the team
- Able to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure
- Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively
- Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
- Able to communicate at all levels and have a “can do” attitude
- Able to read engineering drawings
Responsibilities of the role:
- Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently, including EDM Wire Eroding machines
- Operate a Forklift Truck to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production
- Ensure as part of the team, all breakdowns are covered in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum
- Aim for a “right first time” approach to all work carried out
- Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs
- Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rules and procedures
- Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures
- Seek continuous improvement related to the business KPI’s and as part of the team, contribute towards improved performance and the overall improvement of the business
