This permanent opportunity is the key importance to the continued growth and development of the department you will be working in. The successful candidate will need to have experience working with technical complex rolling equipment. This role will be on days, but you may need to occasionally work nights.

The responsibilities of the Roller Setter Operator

  • Operate rolling mills and assist with coil changes and mill changeovers
  • Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and company rules and procedures
  • Achieve daily targets to meet customer demand by ensuring machines are working to the optimal efficiency and target speeds are constantly maintained
  • Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures
  • Troubleshoot any quality, set up or speed issues arising from rolls, tools or material on existing or new sections and offer feedback and resolution as it becomes part of the daily operating process
  • Participate in training to develop and support your own role within the company
  • Seek continuous improvement

The successful Roller Setter Operator must:

  • Have manufacturing experience in a production environment
  • Be capable of quickly integrating yourself within a team environment on rolling mills
  • Have knowledge of rolling special profiles for safety critical products
  • Be capable of working to tight tolerances
  • Be well organized, multi-skilled, self-motivated and professional
  • Have attention to detail; accuracy is crucial
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Be consistent with workload and work to tight deadlines
  • Be able to communicate at all levels and have a ‘can do’ attitude
