Our client based in the Brierley Hill area are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join them on a permanent basis. The successful Quality Inspector will maintain quality standards by inspecting and approving incoming materials, in-process production and finished products. The Quality Inspector will record the results of their inspections and prepare test reports. When they find defects, inspectors notify Supervisors and Managers and help to analyse and correct the production problems.

Role responsibilities of the Quality Inspector:

  • Respond to quality related issues within the production department
  • Perform audits of processes and products; inspect, test & measure materials or products being produced
  • Record and report inspection/test data in prescribed manner
  • Identify areas of concern in both materials and the production process and make recommendations to address concerns raised.
  • Ability to read basic drawings
  • Calibration of small handheld measuring tools
  • Represent the Quality Department in production workshops
  • Perform related duties as directed by Line Manager and work collaboratively on improvements that help to optimise efficiencies within quality and productions department’s
  • Communicate widely and efficiently with colleagues and other stakeholders, to achieve an affective workflow across departments

The successful Quality Inspector will:

  • Proven experience in a similar role at the same level
  • Proven ability to read basic engineering drawings
  • Previous experience with calibration of handheld measuring tools
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbally, with the ability to develop relationships with key personnel in Production, Engineering and Purchasing
  • Be able to collate, analyse, interpret and present data
  • Excellent level of attention to detail, with an eye for the small details
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and can think logically
  • Proven experience of meeting deadlines and work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Computer literate, with the ability to accurately input data for reporting purposes

  • Pay rate £10.00 – £11.00 per hour
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 and Friday 08:00 – 15:00, working a total of 38.5 hours per week
  • Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays
  • Pension: 3% pension contribution to Auto enrolment pension after 3 months of employment
