£40,000 – £50,000 per annum

Our client based in the Wolverhampton area are currently seeking a Quality and Compliance Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The Quality and Compliance Manager will manage, coordinate and supervise activities required to meet the quality standards expected by the company and will ensure that the product or service and organisation provides is consistent and fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements. This includes compliance with legal requirements and standards set by regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities: Compliance

  • Train employees in matters of quality, audit and inspection
  • Responsible for maintaining and conducting inspections and performing audits.
  • Lead the company’s efforts to maintain continuous product or service quality by implementing process controls; carrying out data analysis and device measurement.
  • Involvement in NPD, NPI and engineering change activity to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Provide compliance expertise and specialist support as required
  • Through detailed knowledge of industry compliance requirements, support development of the brand as a safety specialist.

Key Responsibilities: Quality

  • Advise on changes and put forward recommendations on how to implement them; provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
  • Oversee product recalls in the event of product failure and take action in a timely and responsible manner.
  • Direct and supervise vendor-supplied raw materials or partially finished goods, maintaining effective compliance and corrective action procedures.
  • Develop and manage effective and sustainable AQLs for both suppliers and customers
  • Devise and establish a company’s quality procedures, standards and specifications that are approved by all governing bodies
  • Ensure that all external audits customer visits are prepared for in a timely manner
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish KPIs and achieve quality requirements form external suppliers
  • Set standards for quality, as well as health and safety requirements and manage their implementation across the facility
  • Ensure production/manufacturing processes always meet national and international standards and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain controls, documentation and procedures internally to support the QMS, ensuring that audits and training are always approved and updated to current expectations
  • Look at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency across the site.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data, as well as produce statistical reports that are readily available to stakeholders and are in line with business targets
  • Use relevant quality tools (Documented actions and accountability) and make sure mangers and other staff understand how to improve the business
  • Make sure the company is working as effectively as possible to outperform competitors by using new technologies or best practice.
  • Provide support for released products, evaluate product field performance and reliability and recommend corrective and preventative actions to reduce quality returns year on year.
  • Manage the selection and development of people, resources and budgets necessary to perform the functions of the department.
  • Involvement in NPD, NPI and engineering change activity to ensure product compliance

The Successful Quality and Compliance Manager will:

  • Degree level educated (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • Possess lead auditor qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a through understanding and effective management of Total Quality Management, ISO9001 and associated policies in a global manufacturing supply chain
  • Through understanding of compliance requirements across all aspects of the supply chain
  • Requires a thorough understanding of the product portfolio and a strong technical knowledge around the functionality and benefits
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen with strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to think across disciplines, industries, cultures and scenarios
  • Possess excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Be able to communicate complex, technical, compliance and regulatory information in a simple and engaging manner

What’s on offer?

  • Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 07:30am – 4:00pm Friday 07:30 – 1:00pm (there is a degree of flexibility with hours as long as core hours are covered)
