Our client, a manufacturer of products across a wide spectrum of industries, require a Project Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The Project Engineer will be working as part of the capital equipment team which focuses on continuous improvement of the plant and manufacturing equipment.

- Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 am to 4:00 pm with 30 min lunch break and Friday 07:30 am to 12:30 pm with no lunch break, 37 hours in total

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, implement, and manage modifications to current plant and manufacturing equipment and processes, by reviewing opportunities to improve production output, product quality and equipment reliability
- Management of projects including timescales and budgets, planned versus actual
- Work with production and support services to identify new equipment requirements within the manufacturing processes and prepare and submit tenders and then take this through to installation and commissioning
- Coordination and managing of any contractors that are involved in the projects/tasks ensuring where applicable, that plant is designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with the contract conditions and that records are produced throughout
- Provide report information for the monthly Executive/Board meeting giving details on present project progress, new projects, and issues.
- Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company rules and policies
The Successful Candidate
- Ideally have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, covering the following modules: –
- Fluid Mechanics
- Analytical Methods
- Mechanical Science
- Advanced Mechanics
- CAD/CAM
- Design of Materials
- FEA Simulation
- Have 4+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer in an Engineering industry (Qualified by experience)
- Be proficient in 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor
- Be proficient in Microsoft Project or equivalent project tracking software
- Have excellent project management skills and continuous improvement attitude
- Be computer literate and able to communicate at all levels
- Can work with multiple discipline projects
- Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team
- Can adapt to previously unseen challenges and new technologies
- To have a minimum of a basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Good timekeeping and attendance
