£45,000 – £50,000 per annum

We are working with one of our clients, who are based in the Dudley area, they are currently seeking a Production Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The Production Manager will report directly into the MD and will be responsible for up to 50 manufacturing personnel across the operation. The main purposes of the Production Manager are to be responsible for consistently achieving the daily production plan by managing productivity, labour and materials, whilst ensuring adherence to the company policies and procedures and by identifying and implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods to production.

Role responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: Ensure the safe working of all employees, dealing with accidents/incidents swiftly with an RCA (Root Cause Analysis) approach to future prevention
  • Quality: Drive measurable quality standards and improvements throughout the whole process and team
  • KPI’s: Achieve daily, weekly, monthly production targets with customer fulfilment as the key driver
  • Continuous Improvement (CI): Develop and maintain a CI approach across the teams, identifying savings and tracked via the suggestion process
  • Budgetary Control: Demonstrate a cost driven behaviour to ensure all financial activity is optimised
  • Manage all staff HR related activities, providing sound leadership and executing development opportunities for all staff via periodic performance appraisals
  • Collaborative working: Drive employees to work better together always sharing best practice, facilitated via briefs, team meetings and monthly management meetings

The successful Production Manager will:

  • Proven experience in a similar role at the same level for a minimum of 5 years within a fast-moving manufacturing environment
  • Possess up to date knowledge of modern production and logistics methods with the proven capability to implement changes to current practices with a minimum level of disruption
  • Have a hands-on approach to management, used to being visible on the shopfloor, and be an effective communicator, with strong verbal and written skills with a clear and strong leadership style leading from the front.
  • Proven experience working with LEAN production methods, ideally being a champion for continuous improvement and change management.
  • Have a disciplined and methodical approach coupled with excellent organisational skills
  • Experience with Health and Safety management is desirable
  • NEBOSH certification is desirable
  • Qualification in mechanical and or production engineering and experience in advanced manufacturing techniques within a high volume- manufacturing NPI environment is desirable.

What’s on offer?

  • Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30 – (Flexibility will be required)
  • Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays
  • Pension: 3% pension contribution to Auto enrolment pension after 3 months of employment
