Our client, a manufacturer of construction equipment based in Telford is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join them on a permanent basis, reporting into the Production Engineering Supervisor to ensure that higher productivity through comprehensive fault diagnosis repairs, TPM and improvement to existing machine and equipment is achieved.

The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer communicates with design section for development of machinery and equipment to deliver process stability and improved efficiency

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide an efficient diagnostic, repair and improvement service for assembly machine, equipment jigs and fixtures
  • To proactively identify route courses for downtime and implement next practice solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • To conduct TPM activity in line with the issued schedule and procedure
  • To contribute to meeting the company and department objectives in minimizing equipment downtime by regularly analysing maintenance records and implementing improvements
  • Monitor and report progress of tasks to ensure problems are identified and resolved without impacting on the target
  • Ensure your working area is always kept clean, tidy and safe through 5s activity
  • To report all issues in a timely manner to the maintenance manager
  • To support the departments maintenance of all equipment, jogs and fixtures
  • To assist with the departments training in the broadest terms
  • Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to daily work and tasks

The Successful Candidate:

  • 5 GCSES including Maths and English, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical / electrical or equivalent is essential
  • IEE 17th or 18th Edition is essential
  • Have proven knowledge and experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Working knowledge of PLC Programming
  • Working knowledge of PLC Fault Finding and Pneumatics
  • Understanding of 5s, Kaizen and TPM
  • Capable of understanding technical drawings
  • Able to multitask with minimum supervision
  • Able to produce informative reports with best practice recommendations.
  • Highly motivated with can do attitude
  • Effective motivator and communicator at all levels
  • Able to work on own initiative and in team environment
  • Diligent with good attention to detail
