Our client, a well-established manufacturer and specialist in their field is currently looking for a Buyer to join their team.
What’s on offer?
- Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year
- Hours: 37.75 hours per week (08:30am-17:00pm)
- On Site – Option to WFH 1 day per week after passed probation
- Company Pension: 4% Contribution
About the Role:
- Supplier Relationships: Coordinate designated supplier relationships and strategies in accordance with the Supplier Relationship policy.
- Cost Management: be responsible for the creation and/or deployment of Cost Models for designated categories and developing and delivering the agreed financial commitments.
- Purchasing Tools: use ERP system or other systems optimally to maximise efficiency and minimise stock and cost. Contribute to the improvement and share best practices across the Division and Procurement Function.
- Delivery and Quality: be accountable for leading continuous improvement of frameworks which drive supplier performance within assigned categories, including any associated quality audits (IATF/VDA).
- Processes and Policies: be accountable for ensuring adherence to the company’s processes and policies and maintaining purchasing systems to ensure associated KPIs are met.
- Reporting: provide management reports and key performance data and monitor cost savings. Analyse data or insights to determine industry trends.
- Health & Safety / Environment: ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, to ensure the safety and well-being of self, staff, and visitors.
- Any other duties commensurate with job duties
- Travel to Various UK Locations and site in the Netherlands and associated Suppliers in Europe (predominately Germany)
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Purchasing qualification and/or role-appropriate degree
- Commercial experience with a focus on procurement for a Manufacturing Business
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Has a track record of delivering savings against financial targets and projects on time against budget
- Understands and operates Total Cost of Acquisition based sourcing
- Able to manage delegated projects to tight timescales and engage and influence multiple stakeholders
- Financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
- Understands manufacturing processes within the metals sector and associated key cost drivers
- Understands and operates Supplier Relationship Management
- Ability to use e-business tools to drive analytics or regular business reports
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
